This month, we are excited and honored to welcome a new member to the Adoption Choices of Colorado team: Patience Bramlett! She will be working as an Editorial Intern with us for the next six months.
Patience is an award-winning freelance writer and passionate reader. Her ultimate goal in life is to live without the fear of the unknown, and to embrace happiness no matter how challenging the circumstances. She has amazing enthusiasm for the publishing world, and a great willingness to learn and grow.
Before she begins her regular blogs, I wanted to give her a chance to introduce herself and for you all to get to know her.
RR: When you hear the word, “adoption,” what comes to mind?
PB: Unsurpassable love. It’s a beautiful thing.
RR: What/Who inspires you?
PB: My husband never ceases to inspire me. He didn’t have it easy as a child, yet he’s the most caring and noble man I’ve ever met. Thinking of the man he is today, I can accomplish anything.
RR: What was the last book you read?
PB: I’m currently reading the Jane Hawk series by Dean Koontz. I love fiction, and suspense novels are my go-to. They give daily life that extra pizazz!
RR: What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
PB: The craziest thing I’ve done is take a chance at love with the boy next door, my now husband.
RR: What are you passionate about?
PB: Love and literature.
RR: What are you currently watching on Netflix?
PB: Friends (on repeat). This show reminds me of home! Whenever I’m feeling homesick, I’m able to watch this silly show, full of love and laughs, and reminisce on times I lived closer to my family, back home in Mississippi.
RR: What did you want to be when you grew up?
PB: Book Editor. As I’m sure you’ve noticed by now, I LOVE to read. It’s a beautiful feeling being able to transport one’s mind to different worlds and lifestyles by opening a book. One day, I hope to help create these works of art. Then, I’ll play a role in giving that beautiful feeling to someone else.
RR: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
PB: Drinking coffee, reading, and loving on my fur babies.
RR: What are your career aspirations?
PB: It’s simple: as long as I’m happy, I’ll know I’ve fulfilled my career aspirations.
RR: Why Adoption Choices?
PB: I’d be lying if I said I never took moments in life for granted. Over time, I’ve realized just how blessed I am to have a family that loves me unconditionally. That being said, I gravitated towards Adoption Choices because I want every child to grow up surrounded by profound love and warmth. I hope I can help make a difference.
