When Lauralee Walker placed her baby for adoption with Adoption Choices of Colorado 17 years ago we knew we made a lifetime connection. For the last 7 years, she volunteers to speak at our monthly core training. She revisits her adoption story and speaks openly to prospective adoptive families at the training. She has become a mentor for other pregnant women and birth mothers, an advocate for choice, and a voice to share the love that adoption supports both with hopeful adoptive parents and birth parents. She was also previously a member of our board devoting hours to the adoption community.

After a huge loss devastated her family, doctors discovered a baseball sized tumor in her stomach. “The news was earth shattering, to say the least.” She had to have emergency surgery to remove the tumor leaving her to heal for minimum 8 weeks. With no short-term disability assistance, Lauralee cares for her special needs son and has found herself in a financial crisis.

Lauralee is a strong, independent, caring woman. It’s humbling, hard, to ask for financial support but also, brave! And a sign of strength!
As a caregiver Lauralee realizes that she too needs care. <– this is powerful!
She makes a huge contribution to our agency AND the adoption community. It’s important that we share her story and help her get the financial support she needs. Please visit Lauralee Walker GoFundMe. No amount is too small, no amount is too big.

If you can’t help financially, prayers are equally appropriated. Thank you all so much!

We are with you Lauralee!

Love,

Your Adoption Choices of Colorado Team
